While working on field recordings (mostly released via his own Tresno Records imprint) collected during a two-years on-the-field research in Indonesia, Ldgu goes back to his roots with this six-tracker of diagonal rhythms and gloomy atmospheres.
Recorded with a drum machine and an outboard reverb over a couple afternoons, "Passive-aggressive" is nothing but a raw path associated with feelings like extreme disappointment, sadness and anger.
A collection of six tracks where melodies barely appear at the beginning: furious and steel beats collide, producing alienating environments.
Music is here used as an autobiographical mean of catharsis, resulting in a proper therapeutic journey.
As the album approaches the end, you’ll hear spaces broadening, almost as if a bad story is coming to an end, thus leaving room for the acknowledgment of the fact that even those whom you think might be closer, are actually the farthermost.
